Wealthsim ("we", "our", "the Service") is operated by an individual developer based in India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Financial Data You Provide
You voluntarily enter financial data such as income, expenses, savings, and investment details into the Service. This data is used solely to power the simulation tools you use.
Guest Usage
If you use the Service as a guest, your data is stored only in your browser's local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers.
Automatically Collected Data
We may collect basic usage data such as pages visited and feature usage for the purpose of improving the Service. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Provide and operate the financial simulation tools
- Save and retrieve your data across sessions
- Improve the Service based on usage patterns
We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your personal or financial data to any third party for any purpose.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on encrypted servers. We implement reasonable security practices as required under the IT Rules, 2011, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers immediately.
5. Your Rights
Under the DPDPA 2023 and applicable Indian law, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a summary of your personal data
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — Delete your account and all associated data at any time
- Withdraw Consent — Stop using the Service and request data deletion
- Grievance Redressal — Contact us with any complaints (see below)
6. Cookies
The Service uses essential cookies only — specifically a session cookie for authentication and a CSRF token for security. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
7. Third-Party Services
We use Google OAuth for authentication. When you sign in with Google, Google's own privacy policy applies to the data they process. We only receive the profile information described in Section 1.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
